Greetings amidst the racial tension

A belated but blessed Christmas 2005 to all the readers of the Marketing Defined Blog…. and to our valued Customers.

I write this briefly, as a road accident has saddened my partner John and I with the tragic death/loss of our much loved 21year old godson and nephew. I am “away” helping with arrangements and will re-open for business on 03 January 2006.

Prior to hearing this news, and in response to questions in the emails received from new subscribers, I had started to write about the many Affiliate and income generating possibilities open to new online entrepreneurs. There is a huge world outside of Google Adsense, and you know the dangers of the old adage: “putting all your eggs in the one basket”!

The series of posts are timed to appear in the Marketing Defined Blog on a bi-daily basis commencing 26 Dec. 2005 (starting with the previous post on how you can start your online marketing career with a zero dollar, or no cost “credible” webhost) and it is intended to complete the series on How to Make Serious Affiliate and Website Income on my return to Melbourne on 02 December, 2006.

Please forward any requests for information you would like covered in the series via the Contact Page on the main Marketing Defined website

Very quickly I’d like to cover another point of concern.

With great sorrow I watched the antics of immature, ill informed and mindless youth cause havoc in the recent racial riots at Cronulla beach In New South Wales, Australia.

It was with embarrassment and rage I heard our Prime Minister defend the racists who wrapped themselves in the Australian flag, characterising their behaviour as patriotic.

Here is a snippet of John Howard’s reply to a Reporter who asked for his thoughts on the young hooligans, who yelled out the familiar “Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi” as they went on their rampage of hatred and destruction:

Reporter (Ellen Fanning) : Prime Minister, part of what was chilling yesterday was seeing a lot of people in between the violence doing things that you’d see at the cricket, singing “Aussie, Aussie, Aussie, Oi, Oi, Oi”, wrapping themselves in the Australian flag. What do you say to people who use the Australian flag in that way?
Prime Minister John Howard: Look, I would never condemn people for being proud of the Australian flag. I don’t care – I would never condemn people for being proud….

How profound Mr. Howard… and I still await your reply to a letter stating my concerns as a parent, to the lack of Government response to the current epidemic of bi-polar disease afflicting a vast majority of our teenagers.

I don’t condone, nor defend any racist behaviour, but politely ask, could this be a trend in what will become the norm for our future generations? Will they not be at a severe disadvantage to think and act rationally, if their young brains are already retarded by mental disorders.

Bi-polar disease or marijuana induced psychosis is the “silent” epidemic now retarding the still developing brains of many of our youth. Unofficial numbers of those affected are said to be around 60% of Aussie teenagers… an alarming statistic no matter how small the percentages might be!

A prosperousus and peaceful New Year to you all :-)
