Boost landing page click through rates with a true story

You’ve got past the number one aim of copywriting and created a winning headline for your Squeeze page.  Highlighting a benefit your visitor will gain by using the product, as opposed to a feature will guarantee your reader’s attention.

You have then wisely followed through by immediately showing the reader how you can deliver on the benefit/promise you made.

So what’s next if you are completely new to your niche?  After the first two critical points in copywriting mentioned above… are you stuck for ideas for the body of your landing/squeeze page ?

What can work in certain niches, is to tell a brief and simple story.  Some of the best stories are those that come from your own life experience, or from the lives of those near and dear to you.

Why use a story?

If your marketing is based on theory, versus what you personally have experienced and achieved; is overly expensive to implement, or so complex that you need a PhD in maths to understand it, your squeeze page ctr’s will be abysmal.

A knack for presenting things in an exceptionally emotional and persuasive way… by using a simple story, compels a visitor to keep reading and will make a HUGE difference in your response rate.

Additionally…  it’s very hard to get visitors to part with their money if you cannot prove positive results gained in the niche you are trying to promote.  Critically, bear in mind these results don’t always have to be in the shape of a cut ‘n paste of Clickbank earnings for the preceding year.

Besides we all know how easy it is to conjure up Clickbank and PayPal income statements using Adobe Photoshop. [Stop right there - don't even think about it!   With the plethora of ad spy tools and related statistics now freely available to one and all, It takes a matter of minutes to research and disprove any suspect income statements].

So… particularly if you are new to any given niche industry and don’t as yet have a 5 figure income to display… how do you instill a sense of credibility?

A proven way to pique the curiosity of your visitors and compel them to read through your landing page until they click on the all important order button is by telling a “true” story.  Here are a couple of examples:

Adwords or PPC tutorial - relate how you got to your first $50 day of profits by applying similar techniques taught in this course.  Say your target customer group is “mom and pop” type, new small business owners… I guarantee that even a consistent $25 daily in profits for PPC outlay WILL compel them to read your message further.

Panic and Anxiety attacks - if you don’t suffer from panic and anxiety attacks yourself, do an interview with someone who has conquered their panic attacks successfully.  Research the topic by looking through the top10 results in Google.

Join related forums for a true success story,  or perhaps locate the ideal candidate to interview.  [Example: search for related forums by typing "panic attack forums" into the Google search bar... minus the quotes].

The passion that comes from relating a story that is factual and true cannot be derived from manufactured results.  Remember that keeping it succint [brief and to the point], with lashings of honesty, truth and facts are crucial when you elect to tell a story.
