Using Theme vs Keyword Density for Top10 Rankings
Search Engines are now using Latent Semantic Indexing or LSI for short, more than ever before in the history of the internet, to rank websites.
Accordingly the new shift in SEO is towards theme density which must replace keyword density on your web pages, to gain and maintain those much coveted top10 search rankings.
Looking back to 2 - 3 years ago, it was common practice to take your primary keyword and include it about 5 - 6 times within your content. This act of keyword stuffing, pretty much could have guaranteed high rankings in Google, Yahoo and MSN.
This is no longer so, theme density and theme keyword synonyms are the new metrics that LSI based search engines like Google [and now MSN and Yahoo] are using to analyze your websites.
This is no longer so, theme density and theme synonyms are the new metrics that SEs are using to analyze your websites. Mastering how to use your unique content to correctly incorporate themes into each new website you publish from now now, will virtually guarantee top10 rankings.
Simply put, you do this by incorporating expert verbiage [or synonyms] and theme related words into your content. How do you find these search engine proven synonyms [known as "SEPS"]. Just enter the “tilde” or “~” symbol [found to the left of the number 1 on your keyboard] immediately before your keyword in the Google search box, and the synonyms will be highlighted in bold on the search results page.
Go ahead, give it a try right now in a new tab. Use the tilde before the keyphrase “tattoo design” [~tattoo design] and get an idea of the expert verbiage the LSI search engines provide which will appear immediately after the keyphrase which is in bold.
Look out for synonyms like tattoo flash, tattoo designs, tribal tattoos, celtic tattoos, lower back tattoos, butterfly tattoos, cross tattoos, fairy tattoos and flower tattoos. If you publish a niche website based around the theme keyword of “tattoo design” and use the preceding SEPS or synonyms to form your sub themes and topics, you will now have the basics of what the search engines are looking for and value.
Before I forget… You must bookmark one of the best “free” tools available at present next to Google’s Adwords keyword tool, for great theme related synonyms, and for some “no frills” instant theme keyword research. The MSN adCentre Lab Keyword Group Detection tool is provided, primarily as a means to optimize MSN adcentre PPC campaigns, but I’ve gotten some of the best theme related keywords from this tool. Try inserting a theme keyword like “tattoo” into the search box at the MSN adCentre Lab - Keyword Group Detection tool, and I’m sure you will be pleased with the results.
The next paragraph contains an example on relevance that I got from one of the all time must-have tutorials [see recommended resources at bottom] on the subject of LSI, silos and theme density. Charles Heflin has shared his unique knowledge of Search marketing in such an intelligent and refreshingly honest fashion, that I feel quite indebted to him for making it easy for me to truly grasp the concept of silos and theme density as quickly as I did
Say your website contains the parent theme of “golf”. If most of the “golf” websites on the internet contain the keyword phrase “Tiger Woods” but your site does not, the LSI based search engines will now know about it. They may consider you less relevant because your web page is not talking about “latent” topics related to your parent theme…. which in this case is “golf”
Therefore to make your website relevant, you must do the necessary research to include theme based keywords relating to the parent keyword - AND - rather than only stuffing the pages with the parent theme keyword of “golf”, you would wisely include related theme words such as:
tiger woods - golf balls - golf course - golf clubs - golf games - golf shop - golf equipment - golf history - golf tips - golf pga - golf store and golf handicap
The purpose of performing Theme-based keyword research is to help you drill into ultra-expensive keywords [keyword niches] in order to find the less competitive “latent semantic” terms that will drive your content decisions and attract your ideal prospect or visitor. If you understand nothing else, understand the preceding sentence fully, and everything in “internet marketing”, “offline marketing” and “market research” will suddenly “click”. Your paradigm will shift and the money will start to roll in.
BTW I’ve said it before - there is nothing really new about the concept of theme density and proper inter linking of your web pages. Professional SEO’s have been using theme density instead of keyword density for many years to provide top10 SE rankings for their clients’ websites. For obvious reasons, they chose not to share the concept with the general public.
Like all aspects of website optimization, you can do your research the long laborious way - manually. Or, you elect to invest in 2 - 3 tools for all your niche website keyword research. At the end of each of my future posts on this subject [yep! I've been quiet for some months - but mainly so I could catch up on the backlog of tutorials on the subject - and - there's lots more I am bursting to share with you on the topic], I’ll include the tools and tutorials I know other successful webmasters invest in, that have also helped me master the concept of silos and theme keyword research - AND - saved me long hours of manual research.
This freeing of time has been a huge help so I could also concentrate on learning and mastering the art of profitable PPC campaigns [ah! yet another topic to come: Why it is crucial to learn and master PPC advertising... HINT: Not only for the obvious instant profits in as little as 15 minutes of submitting a PPC campaign, but is hands down one of the best avenues to find related theme keywords for SEO]

I have never recommended anything before this tutorial,
with so much confidence in its ability to deliver.
And BTW, don’t judge this Master Plan by its cover

SEO is such a complex field to master. There always is something to learn, like this concept of theme density. It makes sense but it represents yet another shift and yet another concept to master in this ongoing battle of mastering search engines to gain good rankings.
Nevertheless, I am glad that James Bursche recommended your blog to me. Will be back.
Hi,
I agree with you and also purchased the Master Plan some time ago.
Also i bought recently the update of the Master Plan; at least what I thought was an update, but in fact it was exactly the same version…
I have already sent several emails to Charles Heflin… but no reply.
This makes me doubt a lot about his honesty…
I also wrote this in a blog from Charles Heflin, but this was rather fast removed from his blog.
And still no reply to me… seems not a very good customer service to me. He tells in his blog he made more then 500.000 usd from his Master Plan, but he is afraid to pay me back 27 usd.
I could have been a student of his “university”, but you understand why not.
Your post is nice, but I could not resist informing you and other readers about my experience of customer service from Charles Heflin.
Hey Guy
Thanks for your feedback. Always good to know when IM’s fail to provide good customer service. Have you tried using SEO2020’s contact form. It’s available at http://www.seo2020.com/contact.html and promises a reply within 24 hours.
I too had an awfully hard time getting a reply to my request for an Affiliate link for TMP. So much so that I too gave up.
Please keep us posted! I’d like to help you get your money back if you feel that strongly about it.
best
Rox

I will keep you informed.

Guy

Hi Rox,
Almost one month later and still no reply from SEO2020.
It is really sad that such “great” names care so little for there “clients”.
Best regards,
Guy
